Wednesday 30 April 7.00pm - 8.30pm

Online

202504 encaf

In the coming years climate change will challenge an already fragile food system that we have causing food insecurity and increasing food poverty. What can we do to address this? Professor Lisa Jack from the University of Portsmouth will join us.

Annie Risner from University College London’s Climate Action Unit will also join us to tell us about how they want to engage schools to develop climate action plans and hope to work with EnCaf and others to achieve this.

Lisa Jack a Professor of Accounting from the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Portsmouth and has been elected as a Fellow. She joins a group of 64 newly appointed Fellows, recognised for their outstanding contributions to social science research and its application to society. Her expertise is on our food system.

Annie Risner is the Project Lead on UCL's Climate Action Unit. The Climate Action Unit works to change how scientists, policymakers, businesses, media, civil society organisations and citizens engage with each other about climate change. The Unit is a group of experts in neuroscience, science communication and facilitation.

Prof Ali Hessami from our Core Team will respond on ther importance of links with Universities whilst addressing issues like Food Poverty and how we might develop this further in the future.

Aurora Yaacov will tell us how we might involve schools further through a citizen's science project whereby we involve schools whilst writing a climate action plan to also measure pollutants in their immediate vicinity.
