E.A. Bowles, affectionately known as "Gussie", was a visionary gardener whose legacy lives on at Myddelton House in Enfield. In his insightful talk, Bryan Hewitt explores the creation of Bowles' renowned gardens, showcasing his passion for horticulture and artistry. Hewitt discusses the Bowles family's connection to the estate, the unique role the New River played in shaping the property, and how the garden evolved over time.

He also highlights the fascinating transformation of the kitchen garden into a secret medicinal garden under the ownership of the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine and the School of Pharmacy after Bowles' death.
