Powerhouse drummer Steve Taylor & the 16 piece Big Band Explosion perform with their trademark “Fiery & hard-hitting” (Time Out) style. Expect musical fireworks & Steve’s deftly crafted arrangements

Steve Taylor leads the band with his unmistakably vibrant drumming together with the luscious vocals of co-curator/writing partner Josie Frater. Expect Steve's groove filled fusion flavoured originals plus riveting new arrangements of Gil Scott-Heron, Beady Belle, Al Jarreau, Eurhythmics & Buddy Rich to name a few.

Steve fuses his love of jazz, swing, rock and world music performing, high-energy material that expresses both tenderness and power in the same instant.

The band features 16 of the hottest horn charged crew around including Sax maestro, Vasilis Xenopoulos, Josie Frater vocals and Rosie Frater-Taylor guitar/vocals. Steve Taylor Big Band eXpLoSiOn are acknowledged by fans and critics alike as one of the most exciting British jazz groups on the music scene; wowing audiences at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz club, Pizza Express Jazz Club, London Jazz Festival and Ziggy’s World Jazz Club to name a few.

Taylor has performed with Ian Shaw, Claire Martin obe, Omar, Nitin Sawhney. Appeared as featured guest on BBC Radio 2 Clare Teal show and shared the stage with the likes of Mica Paris.
