Bowes Park Folk Club at the Hillybilly Social: Kyntra + That Blue Patch

Tuesday 23 July 7.30pm

Hillbilly Social at 101, 101 Myddleton Road, N22 8NE

Don't worry - Bowes park Folk Club is not leaving Mum's Bistro anytime soon.

However we are beyond excited to announce a special BPFC Extra show with the astounding Kyntra at the newly-opened Hillbilly Social at 101 Myddleton Road

The Hillbilly Social is an exciting new addition to Bowes Park - run by the wonderful Muswell Hillbilly Brewers. You may also know that the venue itself has been bought by the community to save it from development (and you may even know that BPFC was born there -  in it's previous incarnation as The Step).

Our guests will be Kyntra: a collaboration between award-winning artists Elliott Morris and Henry Webster. With electrifying performances, they create music with traditional sensibilities for contemporary ears.

Elliott, a singer-songwriter and guitarist with three solo albums, has toured extensively across the UK and beyond, headlining shows in Germany, Holland, Ireland, and Canada. He’s won awards at Celtic Connections and Italy's Andrea Parodi World Music Festival.

Henry, an award-winning folk fiddle player, classical violinist and critically acclaimed composer, has toured internationally including with multiple prestigious theatre productions.

The duo formed during lockdown in 2020, live-streaming charity concerts, and have since filmed sessions in Jimi Hendrix's London flat and performed high-profile shows and festivals. These include a headline date in Germany and supports for Talisk, Project Smok, and Damien O Kane & Ron Block. Their eagerly awaited debut album, set for release in early 2024, lives in a space between the traditional and the modern.

Watch Kyntra in action here - then we'll see you on the 23rd!

Plus floorspots and a feature spot from That Blue Patch - see you at Hillbilly Social!

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
