Festival of the Lea

Saturday 13 July and Sunday 14 July 12.00pm - 6.00pm

BLOQS, 2 Anthony Way N18 3QT

202407 festival of the lea

Produced in partnership with Hinterlands Enfield & Bloqs

The Festival of the Lea is an artist and community-led cultural festival that will take place in Bloqs and along the towpaths of the River Lea.

On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July 2024, we welcome Enfield residents, the creative community and wider London audiences to join us over 2 days for free creative and cultural activities, including art installations, immersive experiences, spoken word and theatre performances, makers workshops, co-created community activities, music and more. The festival is a joint celebration between Bloqs on their twelfth anniversary, and the Canal & River Trust’s Hinterlands Enfield Project. The festival programme will be jam-packed with Bloqs' wide-ranging cultural offerings in addition to showcasing multiple artworks, interventions and performances by Hinterlands artists that has evolved in the last 18 months in response to the River Lea - past, present and future.

With a strong focus on celebrating and protecting our waterways, much of the Hinterlands resident artists work has unfolded in response to the River Lea, and so we aim to celebrate Enfield’s integral waterway by transforming a stretch of the canal from Chalk Bridge to the North Circular bridge with artistic interventions. As one of the key creative drivers in the area, Bloqs will be delivering the festival in partnership with Hinterlands, as they reach their 12 year anniversary and aim to celebrate and share their cultural and creative offering with local and wider-reaching communities.

Festival Hub: Bloqs, 2 Anthony Way, London, N18 3QT

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
