Learn a new knitting method with local artist and crafter Alison Ferrary.
Fancy being taught a new way of making your next blanket for the upcoming season? The mitered squares technique might just be the thing for you. After this workshop with Alison it will be a breeze!
Mitered squares get their name from the beveled joint between two pieces of wood. In knitting, decreases make the knitting look like it's turning at right angles, forming a diagonal line of stitches from corner to corner. Start with one mitred square and build on it to create a larger item with no sewing. You can use different coloured yarns to create various items such as cushions, blankets, clothing and bags.
The class will use double knitting yarn and 4.00mm needles but once learned the technique can be used for any yarn/needle combination.
Suited to people that can already knit but you do not need to be an advanced level.
