NOTE: THIS EVENT WILL NOW BE HELD ONLINE Film: Business As Usual + Q&A session

Saturday 8 July 2023 4.00pm - 7.00pm

Online

202307 business as usual 2

In support of Unite the Union's Get Me Home Safely campaign,  Unite Community Enfield Branch will be hosting a showing of the 1987 classic film Business As Usual.

Note: We at Unite Community Enfield Branch are deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of Glenda Jackson. Arrangements to locally show this film were already in place before the 15th June and an attempted effort to have Ms Jackson present at the screening was also in the works. Without Glenda Jackson's contribution, perhaps generations and audiences the world over would not know of this all too familiar harrowing tale of persecution and harassment within a sexist power dynamic.

Going forward, we would like for this event to be partly viewed as a tribute to Ms Jackson's monumental artistic talent and more

Due to both unforeseen technical and other related issues having arisen, a great deal of uncertainty is now proving difficult for the fundraiser event to be held in a physical, therefore we have determined that the best way to move forward, is for tomorrow's (8th July) film showing of Business As Usual  to take place online at the same time of 4PM.

To clarify, tomorrow's film showing for Business As Usual will now be take place online at 4PM.

*Please do not go to The Qube! As no-one will be present to receive you.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
