Dementia Action Week: Exchanging Dreams (reminiscence theatre)

Tuesday 16 May 2023 2.00pm - 3.00pm

Park Avenue Disability Resource Centre, 65c Park Ave, Enfield EN1 2HL

202305 dementia action week

JaZanne Arts present an immersive arts experience including music, song and dancing at Park Avenue Disability Resource Centre, 65c Park Avenue, Enfield EN1 2HL. From 2-3pm. Everyone will be welcome.

Jacqui Livingston will be performing excerpts from Jazanne Art's touring reminiscence theatre 'Exchanging Dreams'. Jacqui will take the audience on an interactive journey sharing memories from the Caribbean and UK, inviting the audience to singalong to popular songs  and inviting them to join in with the dancing. The show is particularly suitable for people born in the 40's, 50's and 60's and goes from childhood memories, to dancing days, visits to the seaside to singing in the rain.

The show was created with the help of a range of people who shared their stories, memories and favourite songs. 'Exchanging Dreams' is particularly suitable for people living with dementias and their families/carers, with plenty of music, projected photos and film, objects and smells to stimulate memory and most importantly, spread joy.

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
