Palmers Green's charity Christmas card shop is back again from this Saturday, for the 25th year in succession, and this year among the causes that it will be supporting are two of North London's best loved charities - the North London Hospice and Noah's Ark Children's Hospice.
If you buy your cards and gifts from the Cards for Good Causes pop-up shop at Palmers Green United Reformed Church, you can be certain that a high proportion of the money you spend will reach the charities - 70 per cent, as compared with between 10 and 25 per cent in the case of cards bought from well known high street names. In the past ten years alone charities have received more than £40 million from Cards for Good Causes.
Palmers Green United Reformed Church is located on the corner of Burford Gardens and Fox Lane (postcode N13 4AL).
In addition to selling cards from a large number of charities, the shop will offer a variety of Christmas goods.
Opening hours are 10am to 4pm, Mondays to Saturdays until Saturday 11th December.
There's free on-street parking, the shop is wheelchair-accessible and our staff of volunteers provides a very warming experience with good service, coffee and biscuits and very good company too.
The 1959 Group of Charities - the organisation behind Cards for Good Causes- is this year celebrating its 60th anniversary. It takes its name from the date of the meeting convened by the Secretary of the British Diabetic Association which led to the launch of Christmas card sales from empty shops and from churches.
