Yvonne Quigley is inviting everyone to a special tea party at the Ruth Winston Centre from 2pm to 4pm on Friday 31st March.

time for a cuppa march 2017

We are holding a fundraising tea party for Dementia UK to support their work with Admiral Nurses who are funded by them.  They carry out vital work with those who have dementia and those caring for them so we want to do our part to keep their work on going.

As more and more of our loved ones are being struck down with dementia we need to spread the word, promote the services in the borough and offer support.  We have a host of people attending to do just that, The Alzheimer's Society Support Worker, Enfield Carers Centre, Age UK Support services and our very own club leaders for our Memory Lane Café and Sing-a-Long.  We also have Janice Nunn, our dementia champion, who will be playing a game that will enable us all to be more aware of the effects of dementia.

Homemade sandwiches, scones and cakes from the wonderful 5* food and hygiene rated, fully trained Volunteers and support from local supermarkets, an entertainer throughout, we are looking to enjoy a great afternoon with so many people.  We appreciate your help in advertising this very important event, anyone is welcome and tickets are on sale now.

Best Wishes

While we admire and support the Christmas campaigns that we see pop up in December, we also know that help is urgently needed all year round, each and every year. As some people pack away after the festive break, we are still here.

Our support is not limited to a food package, but it leaps beyond - we form connections, we listen and respond to everyone who steps through our doors. We open up a warm, safe, environment which aims to feel like a home away from home.

For us to continue to thrive and grow, and keep supporting as many people as possible, we are asking you to become a Friend of Cooking Champions. Even a donation of just £5-10 per month can make a HUGE impact on the lives of those who come through our doors.

Pop to our People's Fundraising page to donate, and we promise to keep you updated with how your support is making a difference. Thank you, we appreciate you! Team Cooking Champions
