Great!
I shall respond since I am particularly concerned about the Conservation area frontages on Aldermans Hill. I raise this regularly with Development Control and the CAG (including Councillors). I have a list of outstanding issues which have been raised with Development Control over the last year, and I resubmitted it again at the last CAG.
This initiative will help apply pressure to deal positively with problems; currently anything seems to go. There is a supplementary plan design guidance for shop fronts, but it is not being followed in this area, though aspects such as security blind design has been applied on Cannon Hill. As shops fairly regularly remodel their frontages it shouldn't be impossible to improve their appearance on a rolling basis. Removing satellite dishes and controlling Estate Agent signs will also help.
Traffic Island in Green Lanes just around corner from Triangle by Boots – could there be some sort of marking on the road way (like a “yellow box”) as when traffic lights are red the traffic queues up and drivers do not leave space on the crossing site for pedestrians to cross .
These additional crossings are not as useful as first appeared as parking is allowed right up to them and if the parked vehicle is much bigger than a small hatchback cannot see approaching traffic without having to go out into the road.
