A children's hospice which cares for children in Enfield is planning to expand the number of children it can support at one time.
Haven House Children's Hospice, based in Woodford, East London, was set up in 2003, since when it has provided care and support for more than 600 families in North and North East London, West Essex and East Hertfordshire.

A winter shelter scheme for people who are suffering from homelessness is seeking to recruit volunteers and raise funds to cover operating costs. Several churches in Enfield borough will be used as shelters, including St John's in Palmers Green.

A play to be performed this week at the Dugdale Centre traces the lives of two notable women from Edmonton - one thought to be a witch, the other a saint.
Calling it a "play" doesn't really do it justice - The Determined and the Damned includes especially written lyrics, a live band, films clips and animation.
Local theatre group InterACTion has assembled a cast of 25 people to present the two lives. Three different actors play the "witch", three more the "saint". Reflecting.......

If you're planning to send charity Christmas cards this year, be careful where you buy them from! If you purchase them from a well-known High Street name, the chances are that most of the money you spend will go to the retailer, not to the charity. Very few shops pass on more than 25 per cent of the selling price to the named charity, and the average figure is actually closer to 10 per cent.
The alternative is to buy from a pop-up charity Christmas card shop run by Cards for Good.......
Delivered in conjunction with the HEET Project, Age UK Enfield is offering free home energy visits to people aged 50 and over living in the London Borough of Enfield. The service is particularly aimed at older people who are finding it difficult to keep their homes warm and are therefore at risk of cold-related illnesses. This could include people who are struggling to pay their bills, who are in fuel debt, who have no heating, or don’t know how to work.......

North London Hospice organising a spectacular talent show to raise money to help fund its work.
North London's Got Talent will be held at the Arts Depot in North Finchley on 6th February 2016.
North London Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care to over 1,500 patients, and supports their friends and families - all completely free of charge in the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.

The Care Act introduces the most significant changes over the last 60 years.
