Following last week's meeting of the Enfield West Partnership Board, the revised proposals for cycle lanes along the A105 will be considered by Enfield Council's Cabinet on 10th February. If, as seems likely, the proposals are approved, they will then be sent to Transport for London (TfL) for its approval. If given the green light by TfL, the proposals will then be subject to a period of statutory public consultation.
Following the consultation, the engineers would move on to.......
North London Samaritans have got through the first stage of a submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund to restore the "Tin Tabernacle" in Bowes Park for use as a call centre and community centre. To succeed in Stage 2 they need to prove that there is sufficient demand from community groups and other organisations who would wish to hire such a hall.
The "Tin Tabernacle" is otherwise known as Shaftesbury Hall and is situated in Herbert Road, very close to Bowes Park station. Originally.......

Recent events around the world remind us all of the terrorist threat we face, which in the UK is considered as ‘SEVERE’, meaning an attack is highly likely. Police and security agencies are working tirelessly to protect the public but it is also important that communities remain vigilant and aware of how to protect themselves if the need arises.
The four minute film, Stay Safe: Firearms and Weapons Attack sets out three key steps for keeping safe. The film is accompanied by an.......
"Inner suburban" services from Moorgate - presumably including those serving Palmers Green - are among a list of rail services which will be transferred to Transport for London (TfL) ownership and become part of the London Overground, if newly published proposals go ahead. However, this will not occur before 2021. It also appears that we will have to wait until then before seeing any serious attempt to smarten up the dismal stations along the tunnels between Moorgate and Highbury.

Footage filmed last weekend shows grown men and women dancing around an apple tree decorated with pieces of dry toast.
Further investigations have discovered that this is an ancient ceremony known as wassailing, which also involves music and consumption of alcoholic beverages made from apple juice. The people taking part are clearly attempting to hide their identities by wearing hats and scarves but.......
David Burrowes MP has published the text of a letter written to him by the Mayor of London following a meeting at which Mr Burrowes raised concerns about the Cycle Enfield scheme.
In the letter Boris Johnson says that he agrees that it is "very important for Enfield, with the support of TfL, to ensure that the scheme is not moved forward to the next formal approval phase until the borough engages more extensively and intensively with residents and businesses". He adds that Leon Daniels,.......
