In defiance of instructions not to do so, two North London councils have published draft proposals for cost-cutting changes to NHS services in the five "North Central London" boroughs - Camden, Islington, Haringey, Enfield and Barnet.
"Lack of public, patient and political involvement"
Councillor Sarah Hayward, leader of Camden Council, took this step because of her "serious reservations" about the process used to draw up the proposals. In a statement published on her council's website.......

Palmers Green is to be the trailblazer for a project which will return to children some of the independence that has been taken away from them in recent years.
London's first Play Quarter will build on the existing Play Street schemes in and around Palmers Green - in Devonshire Road, Old Park Road, New River Crescent, Riverside, The Mall and Orpington Road. Roadworks aren't usually popular with residents. So workers in Ridge Avenue, Winchmore Hill, had a surprise on Friday morning when local parents came to say “Thank you for the bike lanes”, bringing with them a cooked breakfast.
Palmers Green residents Clare Rogers, Claire Brady and Maggie Westhead, who all have children at schools in the borough, brought bacon rolls, pastries, tea, coffee and fruit juice for the workers' 10am tea break. They also displayed a homemade “Thank.......

We're extremely grateful to Nick for his help and for not interfering in any way with the way the website is run. It's also worth pointing out that Winkworth Palmers.......
Bogus "guttering and roofing" firms are continuing to prey on householders in various parts of Enfield. Residents are warned not to be taken in, but to report any suspicious approaches to the police or Citizens' Advice Bureau.
We first passed on a message from the police about these criminals in July, but it was clear from a briefing given at last week's Palmers Green Ward Forum that the problem is ongoing and that the criminal gangs are not simply picking houses at random, but are.......
