The next film in Talkies' 2017 HERE Film Festival was made by a local director, Bruce Goodison, who will be at the screening at the Fox on 5th April to introduce and answer questions. A senior Enfield councillor has backed this website's call for residents to be given more time to respond to a consultation about introducing stricter criteria for carrying out certain medical procedures on the NHS. The procedures in question include knee surgery, hernia operations, some types of breast restoration and surgical removal of scar tissue.

Talkies Community Cinema has never been known to rest on its laurels. This month the locally based "pop-up" cinema will be launching its third HERE film festival with a special event featuring for the first time a live orchestra. The film in question is of great historical importance and was itself a groundbreaking achievement when it was first shown just over a hundred years ago.

Enfield Council has relaunched its Quieter Neighbourhoods (QNs) project, an important element of its Mini Holland bid which has been on hold since early 2015. Leaflets will soon be posted through doors of people living in the first areas to be surveyed and it is already possible to fill in an online Residents' Perception Survey.
