Enfield Carers Centre (ECC) has expressed serious concerns about Enfield Council's proposals to change the formula for calculating how much to charge for social care. Specifically, the proposals would affect people who require night-time care, some of whom stand to see the amount charged rising by £27.45 per week while their income has not increased.
ECC is asking all Enfield residents, including those not personally affected, to respond to the consultation which is currently in.......

What can we expect at this year's 10th PG Festival? Well, pretty much the same eclectic mix as before, something for all ages and tastes. Music, dance, a funfair, food, drink, art and craft stalls, local history, conservation groups, community groups, charities, political parties (do they count as fun?), a dog show (prizes include Prettiest Bitch and Dog with the Waggiest Tail) and more. Check.......

If the WEEE item can be easily moved, we ask you take it to a local bring back or Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Minerva's face revealed by trial removal of protective coatingSpecialists have begun trial restoration of some sections of the Lanscroon murals that once adorned the staircase in Broomfield House. If the trials are successful, it is hoped to exhibit sections of the murals at the Dugdale Centre next year.

affordable housing and viability coverThe supplementary planning guidance was issued earlier this monthA new online petition is calling on Enfield Council to follow guidance issued by the Mayor of London which would ensure that companies building large housing projects would no longer be able to avoid the requirement to provide a minimum of 35 per cent of affordable housing.
As part of the Cycle Enfield works, Green Lanes will be closed between Hedge Lane and Hazelwood Lane overnight for four nights, commencing on Tuesday 29th August. The closures will be from 8pm to 6am and will allow resurfacing of the main carriageway. The noisiest work will be carried out up to midnight. There will be no access to Green Lanes from Osborne Road, Windsor Road, Park Avenue and Fox Lane during the overnight closures.

Transport for London (TfL) is consulting on a proposal to make changes to the pedestrian/cycle crossing of the North Circular Road between Palmerston Crescent (north of the NCR) and Palmerston Road (south of the NCR). The intention is to make it easier and pleasanter for both pedestrians and cyclists to cross.
The existing shared crossing would be relocated slightly to the west and converted into separate pedestrian and cycle crossings. Motorised traffic would no longer be able to turn.......

Speakers at the meeting queried the "evidence base" for the proposals and expressed the view that the cumulative "deficit".......
