While Enfield Council continues to analyse more than 700 consultation responses and work on developing a revised scheme, the plans for a low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN) in the Fox Lane area are likely to be the dominant topic of discussion at next week's Annual General Meeting of the Fox Lane and District Residents' Association (FLDRA). At the meeting, on Thursday 20th February, the FLDRA Committee will be proposing that the Association adopt a formal position calling for a revised plan which, while incorporating traffic calming, would keep as many roads 'open' as possible.

The Theatres Trust has restated its opposition to the demolition of the Intimate Theatre. The recently deceased Nicholas Parsons appeared there in 1947, calling it a 'well regarded' theatre.

The Enfield Climate Community Group is an affiliate of the recently launched Enfield Climate Action Forum (EnCAF) intended to bring together individuals who believe we face a climate change crisis and wish to do something about it at an indiividual level.
The final report of the Enfield Poverty and Inequality Commission found that deprivation in the borough has increased in recent years and called on the government to review its funding arrangement for local authorities to help them tackle increasing poverty. The Commission made 27 recommendations which it says will make a significant difference to families with the lowest incomes in the borough. They include reforming the private rented sector, improving access to healthcare - including mental health services - revitalising youth services and reducing crime and anti-social behaviour.
Each edition of the quarterly newsletter published by the Enfield Society has one or more articles about historic buildings in the borough, many of them written by Stephen Gilburt. Over the years these have built up to form a rich resource for anyone interested in finding out about Enfield's history and heritage, but even though the newsletters are available online there has been no way of easily finding articles of interest. That is, until now.
A demonstration by environmental campaigners from Extinction Rebellion Enfield led to last Wednesday's meeting of Enfield Council being temporarily adjourned. The protesters say that the council is taking too long to take measures to combat the climate emergency.
