Six new trees for Palmers Green Triangle

The latest news about the Triangle from Richard Eason, Cycle Enfield Consultation Manager, is that the plans include six new trees. Five of these are intended to be ‘heavy standard’ trees (three located around HSBC and two by Starbucks). The sixth tree will be a semi-mature tree to be placed in the middle of the triangle. So essentially as captured in the attached visualisation, though the positioning of the clock is yet to be agreed. Work on the triangle is currently scheduled.......

Petition calls for ultra-low emissions zone to include the whole of London

An online petition on the 38 Degrees website is calling on the Mayor of London to include the whole of Greater London in the Ultra-Low Emissions Zone, for it to cover all types of vehicle and for it to come into force by 2019. Parents petition for road safety measures near Oakthorpe Primary School

The parent of a child at Oakthorpe Primary School is petitioning Enfield Council to improve pedestrian safety in the vinicity of the school, which is Tile Kiln Lane, near the junction with Chequers Way. 329 bus temporarily curtailed at Wood Green

Because of delays caused by the Cycle Enfield road works along the A105, the 329 bus is currently not running south of Wood Green station.  This will allow frequencies to be retained between Palmers Green and Enfield.  According to the TfL website, the route curtailment runs from 5th January to 30th March. Southbound buses are terminating very close to the usual stop outside Wood Green station.  However, buses towards Palmers Green on the 329 are not serving the northbound Wood.......

The Mayor of London has launched the second phase of his consultation on proposed measures to improve air quality in the Capital. Surprise breakfast for bike lane builders

Roadworks aren't usually popular with residents. So workers in Ridge Avenue, Winchmore Hill, had a surprise on Friday morning when local parents came to say “Thank you for the bike lanes”, bringing with them a cooked breakfast.
