Pupils at a primary school in Palmers Green have donated toys and cards to young patients who will be spending Christmas in the North Middlesex Hospital.

Earlier this month the gifts collected by children and their teachers at Oakthorpe Primary School were presented to the hospital by members of the School Council, which has representatives from each year group.

In addition to collecting presents, the school raised more than £230 to go to the North Mid's Hospi-Gamer campaign, which is raising funds to buy two mobile gaming units. The gaming units will be used by in-patients and also by young patients waiting to be seen in reception areas.

Children at the school also wrote Christmas cards for delivery to patients across the hospital as part of the North Mid Charity ‘Cards from our Community’ Campaign.

Sarah Kenny from Oakthorpe Primary School said: “Oakthorpe Primary would like to thank North Middlesex University Hospital for letting us be a part of your Christmas campaign. We also want to wish all of the staff and patients at the hospital a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
