Question 1. What do think is good about the area?
Good – a fair variety of shops / businesses / banks are available. It’s a reasonably clean environment as compared with wood green
Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?
Less good – there are real problems with parking which makes using the shops difficult .rather too many charity shops! Commercial rates for shop owners are far too high.
Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?
Improve -why not build a multi-story parking block – as in Enfield town? Improved parking would greatly improve the viability of local shops
Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic
Traffic –I have no problems with current traffic. Most drivers are considerate
Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking
Support street ½ hr parking
Would encourage more use of town centre. What we need is a multi-story parking facility. There is no point in free parking if you can’t park!
Does not support Sunday parking charges
Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter
Clutter – I have no issues with this – but fine people who drop litter
Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture
Look of shops – generally well presented
Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops
Type of shops – less charity shops. Clamp down on new (3) applications for betting shops.
Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space
Pavements -good
Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space
Triangle – well and properly used by charities and schools
Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery
Planters – generally OK. The hanging baskets have been superb in the past.
Any other comments
Other- I am dismayed that consideration is being given to close / relocate the palmers green library. Leave it alone! It is excellent – and provides a first rate service.
