Question 1. What do think is good about the area?
Good – diversity of shops and restaurants particularly lemon tree and office interiors etc.
Question 2. What do you think is less good about the area?
Less good - cameras giving tickets when drivers are still in vehicle but not dealing with yobbish behaviour near McDonalds or in car park.
Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?
- Make McDonalds exercise more control of the behaviour of some of the clients it attracts
- Monitor misuse of car park, litterbugs and jay walkers into road
Question 4a. Specific aspects – traffic
Traffic – educational campaign for pedestrian safety and cyclists ie DO NOT WALK INTO ROAD WITHOUT LOOOKING AND WHILS ON MOBILE PHONE!
Traffic Hedge lane – traffic calming not needed at all if those who use the roads were taught more respect
Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking
Parking – ticket machine to issue 20min free ticket for quick shop
Supports ½ hr free parking
Would encourage town centre use because I don’t have to go to the supermarket!
Does not support Sunday parking charges
Question 4c. Specific aspects – clutter
Clutter – Ok at present
Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture
Look of shops – is generally good but the tidiness and Edwardian look should be maintained
Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops
Type of shops- gents outfitters would be good
Question 4f. Specific aspects – amount and use of pavement space
Pavements – smoking areas outside pubs should be stopped. Cafes and ?????? areas is nice if there is space. Cheapo shops however should be contained. Other pavements should not be sacrificed to restrict road use.
Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space
Triangle – something to replace the tree would be good.
Question 4h. Specific aspects – Greenery
Planters – those which we have are very nice

Other – the two main problems with palmers green is
- The viability to park free for few minutes for a quick shop / pick up.
- McDonalds – mess and intimidation caused by some of its clientele
