Question 1.  What do think is good about the area?

Good – the fact that there is a good choice of shops and restaurants from many cultures

Question 2.  What do you think is less good about the area?

Less good – it would be nice to have a hardware shop (similar to Robert Dyas), toyshop and baby / children’s wear shops. Also a butcher and fishmonger would be a big benefit.

Question 3. What would you like to see to improve the area?

Improve –ensuring shops do not close down or get run down. Is this because business rates are high?

Question 4b. Specific aspects – parking

Parking 0 1. Cost  are very high and traffic wardens are quick off the mark too!! And cameras 2. This may not still be relevant but the last time I used car park in lodge drive access road was full of deep pot holes. This should remain open later in evening because of large number of restaurants and a banqueting hall in the area.

Question 4d. Specific aspects – look of the shops/architecture

Look of shops – general ythis is OK but some look scruffy and need updating. Some shops have closed down for some time and not been re-opened (eg the old Grouts building)

Question 4e. Specific aspacts – type and range of shops

Type of shops – see previous answers. There are possibly too many restaurants

Question 4g. Specific aspects – the Triangle public space

Triangle – it is a pity about the tree that had to be felled but it would be good if that could be replaced. The public toilet there presently should be demolished but replaced with one above ground (like at Winchmore hill) charging maybe 10-20p for use. This would help parents with small children, drivers and shoppers etc.

Any other comments

Other  -by having a bigger range of local shops and facilities, that people ,can get to on foot, this would cut down traffic pollution in the area. There are also too many houses and flats being built in the area with no increase in facilities ( eg doctors, hospital beds, school places, etc) o the area has become very overcrowded.
