People concerned about the future of two local landmarks received a double blow this week, when Enfield Council notified campaigners that they had refused applications to register the Green Dragon in Winchmore Hill and the former university campus and mansion in Trent Park as Assets of Community Value (ACVs).

Enfield Council has published more information about the design concepts for the main Cycle Enfield ("Mini-Holland") routes, together with feedback from the consultations held at the Fox and other venues. There is still time to comment on the concepts before the next consultation phase begins in the summer.

Enfield Council has written to businesses located along the A105 (Enfield Town-Bush Hill Parade-Winchmore Hill-Palmers Green) to reassure them that when implementing the "Mini-Holland" cycling scheme it will be taking account of their concerns about car parking, deliveries, bus services and accessibility for elderly and disabled customers.

On Sunday 26th May a ceremony was held at the Garden of Remembrance in Broomfield Park to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of the World War One Gallipoli Campaign.

Save Trent Park campaigners are warning that delay by Enfield Council in registering the Park's historic mansion as an Asset of Community Value is jeopardising its future. They fear that the former university campus might be sold to an private developer at any moment, before registration is complete.
Registration as an ACV would give the campaign a six-month breathing space, during which time it could seek a buyer for the campus who would be willing to guarantee the conditions voted.......
