The company that owns the former university campus in Trent Park is hoping to create 245 new homes on the site. It is willing for part of the historic mansion to be used as a museum, but campaigners are disappointed with the amount of space the company is willing to allocate to this purpose. There will be a public meeting about the campaign for a museum on 16th June.

A new campaigning group is calling for a fairer balance between cars, cycles, buses and pedestrians on Enfield's roads. The rail company behind Great Northern has admitted that, despite boosting its training programme, it still does not have enough drivers to run all scheduled services, especially during periods of high annual leave (ie school holidays). And it would appear that planned service enhancements due in December will prolong this problem, as will the need to train drivers for new train fleets.

The first ever Firs Farm Wetlands Festival will be held on 16th July and will celebrate the progress of the project to transform an area of playing fields into a site for pond dipping, nature trails, educational tours, a relaxing walk or family picnicwalking - not to mention, the largest sustainable urban drainage system in the UK, designed to reduce the risk of flooding to local homes.
The celebrations will be hosted and organised by the Friends of Firs Farm. But they need help to fulfil.......

Enfield Council has found partners for two "community libraries" in the east of the borough. The builders are currently in at Ponders End Library, making room for the charity Age UK Enfield, which will be moving its headquarters to the library. Work is also under way at Enfield Highway Library, which will be sharing with a "public health services department".
