Modified proposals for new wards are out for consultation. Compared with the proposals consulted on in May, they reallocate some streets in Palmers Green ward to Winchmore Hill ward and vice versa.

Great Northern Rail has announced that from Saturday 14 December 2019 until an undisclosed date in summer 2020 the line between Finsbury Park and Moorgate will be closed on most weekday evenings from 21.40 and on most weekends. Details of a controversial proposal to build 150 homes on the two car parks at Arnos Grove station will be unveiled at a public exhibition on 6th and 7th November.

Enfield Council will be unveiling its new plans for the Fox Lane Low Traffic Neighbourhood on 12th November, at a public exhibition in the former Starbucks building at Palmers Green Triangle. Visitors will be able to view the plans, question the design team and give feedback. The council developed the new plans for the Fox Lane quieter neighbourhood after it became clear that the measures introduced earlier this year had proved ineffective and a more radical treatment was needed.

Southgate District Civic Trust has restated its commitment to fight proposals for a development incorporating three towers, including one 17 storeys high, close to the Southgate Circus Conservation Area, and has launched a campaign to raise money to help it argue its case at a planning panel to be held next month. Revised proposals submitted by the developer last week include a reduction in the height of the towers, but not by a large enough amount to satisfy opponents.

The revised proposals for a low-traffic neighbourhood based around Fox Lane are expected imminently. In the meantime Enfield Council has launched the next phase of the Quieter Neighbourhoods programme by setting up perception surveys for the three residential areas that are included in Phase 2
