Some ten months after he was suspended from the Labour Party because of a complaint about his conduct, Enfield Southgate MP (and PG resident) Bambos Charalambous has had his membership reinstated after an investigation cleared him of the allegations, and his name is now regularly cropping up in Hansard again.
So is he in the running for selection as Labour Party candidate for the newly created Southgate & Wood Green constituency at the next election? I've no idea, but I do know that he was certainly running in the London Marathon this year and completed the 26 mile course in 5 hours, 51 minutes and 9 seconds.
Like many participants, Bambos was running to raise money for good causes, specifically the North London Hospice, UK Thalassaemia Society, Butterfly AVM Charity and the wonderful Enfield charity Cooking Champions.
Now, you may not be a supporter of the Labour Party - indeed, there may be some readers who are strongly opposed to its policies - but this is a time to put aside political differences and recognise our MP's personal achievement by donating generously to his fundraising page, which includes his reasons for supporting those particular charities.
So far donations are £450 short of the target amount of £5000. I'm sure that readers can help get Bambos over the finishing line for a second time!
