An 'indomitable' former Mayor shares her experience, expertise and wisdom

kate anolue book signing jan 2023Twice Mayor of Enfield Kate Anolue published her second book in September and this month will be personally signing copies for purchasers at two Enfield Libraries: at the Living Room Library (Fore Street Library) on Tuesday 17th and at the Ordnance Unity Centre Library on Saturday 20th.

Kate's first book to be published, in 2019, was an autobiography. She had quite a story to tell: Having moved to the UK after the devastating civil war in Nigeria, she dedicated forty years of her life to the health service. While working full time as a midwife, she studied law and became an expert in medical negligence cases, supporting her colleagues as their Royal College of Midwives' (RCM) Steward. Her many recognitions include Honorary Freedom of the London Borough of Enfield and a listing as one of the 50 Inspirational Black Women in the UK.

The new book, Time for Purpose, has been written to pass on this "indomitable" woman's experience, expertise, wisdom and passion for serving others to a new generation, consolidating all her experience so as to help champion community causes like health, crime and safety, single parenthood, children and young people.

Dr Kate Anolue was born in Nigeria and moved to the UK after the devastating civil war. A former midwife, Kate studied law and became an expert in medical negligence cases, supporting her colleagues as their Royal College of Midwives' (RCM) Steward. She has given 40 years' service to the NHS. A woman of action, duty and purpose, Kate has been a councillor for the London Borough of Enfield for over twenty years, and has served as their Mayor twice. She is currently the CEO of Tender Care Health Initiative, and the Founder and President of Forum for Africans, African Caribbean and Asian Women in Politics.
