yarn bombed postbox outside stitchThe skillful and inventive people at Stitch! have been "darn-bombing" a pillar box, will be teaching us how visible mending can make for a more sustainable lifestyle, and have room for a couple more young people in their teenage sewing club.

This prettified priority postbox is designed to brighten up Green Lanes with a representation of the ponds in Broomfield Park and some of the flora and fauna you can find there (including bears!?!).

The four-week teenage sewing club starts on Thursday 23rd. At the time of writing there were two vacant slots.

And on Saturday afternoon Stitch! will be bringing us one of the first of 100 events that make up Enfield's Big Green Climate Festival. By bringing back the almost forgotten arts of mending, darning and alteration, we can reduce the shocking amount of clothing that is thrown away unnecessarily and help save precious resources used in the manufacture of textiles - in particular, water.
