What delights can we expect at this year's PG Festival?

Hopefully, all PGC readers will have the first Sunday in September marked in red on their calendars. It's the return of the Palmers Green Festival after a gap during the pandemic years. It will also see the Festival "under new management", as Phillip Chard takes a well deserved retirement after so many successful Festivals.

The new custodians are Friends of Broomfield Park, and news about what to expect and the partners they'll be working with has been appearing on their website.

As before, there will be absolutely no charge for entry.

Palmers Green Festival is a not-for-profit event, but any surpluses will go to charitable causes, including improvements to Broomfield Park.

And don't forget, between now and September there's still more summer to come and many more Broomfield Summer Festival events to enjoy!

It started with the PG Festival: Ten years of Tatty Bits

We are very excited about this collaboration as it will be Tatty Bits’ 10th birthday in September and the Palmers Green Festival of 2013 was where it all began!

For Cara McDonagh, this year's Palmers Green Festival will be special in at least two ways. Not only will she be in charge of the Vintage Village section of the Festival, which will be based around the boating pond on the Aldermans Hill side of the park, but she'll also be celebrating the tenth anniversary of her business Tatty Bits, which launched at the Palmers Green Festival in September 2013.

A little more recently, in 2019, it was Cara who ran the PG Vintage Flea, when she succeeded in filling the large floorspace in the former Woolworths (and later Iceland) store near the Triangle with all sorts of vintage, preloved and retro collectibles.

Cara is still on the lookout for further traders for the Vintage Village. If you sell vintage clothes, homeware, books, furniture, toys etc and would like to take part, you can get in touch with her on .

Round and about the park

Around the bandstand and at other locations across the park, registered charity Cooking Champions will hold the food village. The perfect place to enjoy some hot food to eat at the festival or mouth-watering produce to take home or give as gifts.

Lots of drink options, live music and competitions as well - all while raising money for our essential local food support.

The Vintage Village is organised by Cara McDonagh. Lots of stalls selling all sorts of nostalgic treats.

Led by Amba Horton, this area will be a magnet for families with face painting, activities and lots of magical stalls.

Regular visitor for many years, John Biddall brings lots of fairground rides and stalls aimed at families with younger children

Aykut Hilmi of Starfish Loves Coffee will be curating an exhibition of artwork along the railings of the park on Aldermans Hill.
