The club was runner-up in the Running Club of the Year (London) category at the England Athletics Regional Volunteer Awards

On Sunday 13th October, we hosted our annual Run the River 10k event at Lee Valley Athletics Centre. The race, which is a firm favourite with local runners, had its biggest field ever with 325 entrants. The flat and scenic route, which follows the River Lee towpath from Pickets Lock down to Tottenham Marshes, has a grandstand finish with a lap of the Lee Valley Athletics Track.

This year, the first finishers were Craig Stevens of Eton Manor AC in 35:33 and Chiara Borg of London Heathside in 41:32. All the runners received great support from over 90 volunteers, who helped create a special atmosphere along the course. Next year, the race will be on Sunday October 12th 2025, so mark your diaries – places will go on sale in May, and are sure to sell out quickly.

On top of all the excitement of Run the River, October also saw Edmonton RC recognised in the England Athletics Regional Volunteer Awards, where we finished runner-up in the Running Club of the Year (London) category. The club was praised for our positive energy and the encouragement shown to runners of all abilities. Additionally, England Athletics recognised the club's diversity and its focus on inclusion, ensuring members have a great experience whilst being supported to achieve their personal running goals. The award is a huge achievement for everyone involved.
