Bus service changes

We continuously review services to ensure they reflect customer demand and offer value for money. As part of this work, we have identified that frequency changes are required at certain times on some bus routes to meet current and expected demand.
Route 121 (Enfield Island Village to Turnpike Lane Bus Station)
From Saturday 1 February buses will operate every 10 minutes instead of every 15 minutes during the day on Sundays (from 09:00 until about 1930). There is no change to the frequency at any other time.
Route 329 (Enfield Town to Turnpike Lane Bus Station)
From Saturday 11 January buses will operate:
- Every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes before 07:00 on weekdays
- Every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes before 08:15 on Saturdays
- Every 8-9 minutes instead of every 10-12 minutes before 09:30 on Sundays
There is no change to the frequency at any other time.
Night Bus route N29 runs parallel to route 329 and will continue to operate every 10 minutes on every night of the week.
Route W4 (Oakthorpe Park to Tottenham Hale, Ferry Lane)
From Saturday 1 February buses will operate:
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes before 07:30 on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes before 08:30 on Saturdays
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes before 10:15 on Sundays
There is no change to the frequency at any other time.
On Sundays the first buses will start earlier to provide a consistent start time to services on all days of the week, meaning customers will benefit from buses an hour earlier than they do currently.
Route W6 (Southgate Station to Edmonton Green Station)
From Saturday 1 February buses will operate:
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 20 minutes before 07:15 on weekdays
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes before 07:00 on Saturdays
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes before 09:00 on Sundays
- Every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes on all evenings of the week (after 20:00 on Monday to Fridays and 18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays)
There is no change to the frequency at any other time.
On Sundays the first buses will start earlier to provide a consistent start time to services on all days of the week, meaning customers will benefit from buses 90 minutes earlier than they do currently. The last buses will also operate 45 minutes later than they currently do on all days of the week.
We will keep the changes under close review to ensure demand continues to be met. The flexible nature of the bus network means we can make changes such as frequency adjustments at relatively short notice if required.
We are continually improving and adapting our bus network, including its expansion in many parts of outer London. Our Bus Action Plan aims to increase the number of customers choosing to travel by bus across London by making bus travel more reliable, faster and greener. Journeys are getting better with new comfortable zero emission buses, we are investing in more bus lanes and the latest traffic light technology to improve reliability, and we are bringing in more real-time information at stops and on buses.
We will be emailing customers and other local stakeholders ahead of the changes taking place and bus stop publicity will also be updated. We encourage customers to check their journeys using the planning tools on our website or the TfL Go app.
