Police setting up new ward panels

palmers green ward map Map showing boundaries of the new Palmers Green wardThe Metropolitan Police's safer neighbourhood teams in Enfield borough are in the process of adjusting to the new council ward boundaries that have been in force since the local elections in May.

Our local PCSO, Jennifer Arkwright, is a familiar sight patrolling the streets in the vicinity of of Green Lanes and the Triangle. This week she sent out a message to people on her email distribution list, inviting them to volunteer to participate in the new ward panel for Palmers Green. Obviously, the invitation is not just open to people already on her email list - the necessary qualification is to live, work or study in the new-look PG ward (see the map above).

Dear Ward Member,

Do you live, work or study on Palmers Green Ward? Are you a representative of an organisation in Palmers Green? Would you like to represent your road?

Palmers Green ward boundaries have changed and has gained some new roads and lost others. We are looking for new members to attend Palmers Green Ward Panel meetings which are held approximately every 10 weeks.

A ward panel is a group of community members and partner agencies that meets with a representative of the Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) to set local SNT ward priorities and to talk about and problem solve issues affecting the community.
