The "enchanting treasure trove" garden of Arnos Park Lodge is open to the public on June 16. Elizabeth Dobbie, the "indomitable and inspirational plants-woman" whose garden it is, is also the chair of the Friends of Broomfield Park's conservatory group. A406 crash that damaged dental surgery: Do pedestrians have to pay the price for bad road design and careless drivers?
The dentist whose practice in Bowes Road was severely damaged when a driver drove a car into it says that the junction (where Brownlow Road and Powys Lane meet the A406) is dangerous. As quoted by the Enfield Independent, he appears to suggest that the pedestrian crossing across the end of Powys Lane should be removed. But this would be punishing pedestrians for the faults of bad drivers. Despite two other recent serious crashes at the junction, Transport for London say they have other priorities.

Whitewebbs campaigners issue urgent crowdfunding appeal
Campaigners opposed to the leasing of part of Whitewebbs Park to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money to launch an appeal against the judicial review which found that Enfield Council's decision to let the land is lawful.
Forum participant Darren Edgar considers that the campaign against the lease is causing the council to waste money defending its decision.
On its website, the Enfield Society takes a more nuanced view: Enfield Council’s financial situation is such that disposal of the land is inevitable and that the Spurs option seems to be the most acceptable outcome of those tendered, though the Society reserves its position until the terms of the lease are made public.
