The Charity SpEC is looking for volunteers to help it set up Speaking English with Confidence clubs in Enfield. It has arranged five training sessions at the Civic Centre in Enfield Town (Silver Street EN1 3XA) during February. The sessions are at:
- 9.30am Tuesday 3rd February
- 9.30am Thursday 5th February
- 9.30am Monday 9th February
- 9.30am Thursday 12th February
- 9.30am Tuesday 17th February
It is essential to attend all five sessions.
- Do you have a genuine commitment to helping others learn and develop?
- Do you get on well with diverse groups of people?
- Do you have excellent spoken English and communication skills?
- Can you commit to giving 30 hours of time?
If the answer to all these questions is yes, then you might make an excellent SpEC volunteer club leader.
Over 48,000 Londoners speak little or no English and nearly two million Londoners don't speak English as their first, or main, language.
Speaking English with Confidence (SpEC) is supporting a network of conversation clubs all over London in libraries, community centres, schools and places of worship our clubs help people meet make friends and practise their English in an informal setting.
Volunteering with SpEC offers a unique opportunity to help improve the lives of local people across London, whilst sharing and developing valuable skills and experience.
